by Freya Storm at March 17 Thursday 3:40 pm EST

It was Monday. No one would be there. Not at this hour, nor this day of the week, would the doors of Club Republica be open. Sitting in the back of the taxi, the pale blonde had requested that her cab driver bring her here. Just to sit, for a moment, and gaze at the front doors and architecture of the place she had once called home. Eve now sitting here in the back of the cab, Freya felt the gentle pull and break of her heart. Nearly a year, and those within had had burrowed gently into her heart. They would remain there, and she would still do nearly anything for them. Try as she would, those within would hardly fade from memory, no matter how much she would try.

Giving the driver a nod, the cabby pulled the yellow automobile away from the curb, and funneled into the thick evening traffic of New York City. Her eyes lingered upon the club, hidden behind the view of her sunglasses. The lift of her chiseled jaw-line finally falling and resigning the venue was out of her view. Freya drew in a slow breath, then let it sizzle out with her exhale. Returning back to New York made her feel odd, and out of place, nearly as much as it did so when the shift yanked her to this crowded place.

At least now, she could afford a hotel room. The Hilton Garden Inn was well enough, a simple room for now. Freya would have to find a job, hoping that her background at CR would be prestigious enough to gain footing somewhere. She was starting over. With the few things she owned folded away in a large suitcase, and a Nepalese tapestry she'd been given as a gift. They had said some of the designs woven were for luck, love, and happiness. She hoped they were right.

The yellow cab drew up to the prestigious front of the Waldorf-Astoria, to deposit the Pantheran before the luxurious Art Deco decorated building. Soft lips twisted into a crooked frown, as she noticed the upscale dress of patrons going in and out of the building. In her wish to see the front facade of Club Republica, Freya had forgotten the Waldorf-Astoria's dress code. While, Auzdein had easily slipped her in before, she had no escort this time. Her visit unannounced, as the tall blonde stood outside the resort hotel in a pair of dark jeans, a loose sheer dark slate sweater over a tank top, boots, a pony tail, and sunglasses. She was certainly not up to code.

Paying the driver, Freya decided to go ahead and walk inside like she owned the place. With a careful release of the paper thin shields, her power began to emanate from her long lithe frame. Sensual prickles and the calming brush of metaphysical fur reached out for those near her, as the tall female began to stride through the 'golden' doors. She could feel the sudden search of eyes upon her body, that would relax as soon as she passed by with long sure strides of an alpha Pantheran female.

That was, until a huge bull looking male in a uniform began to click his heals towards her. He moved fast, halting her progression, as his nostrils steamed the air between them. •npc• "Can I help you, ma’am?"

Did she look that out of place? A quick glance among the 'residents' and Freya could see that did stick out like a sore thumb. Her mouth pursed into a thin line, before she answered, § "I am a friend of Auzdein von Schäfer." She lifted a hand, motioning towards the gilded doors of the lift, § "I've been out of the country, and I just thought I'd stop by."

The doorman...bull...snorted, motioning for Freya to follow him off to the side, •npc• "You shall have to wait out of the lobby, and we can call Mr. Auzdein von Schäfer."

It was chilly outside, but not enough to warrant a jacket or coat for the man of the deepest south. Sporting his ironed khaki slacks, a sky blue Polo short-sleeve fitted neatly to his proud frame, his Rapiécés Reprisés by Berluti,

Image

and a Tour de l’Ile by Vacheron Constantin,

Image

Auz strode through the Waldorf-Astoria's lobby looking like one of The Big Apple's upper crust on his way to a golf match or perhaps for a leisurely drive. If only they'd seen him a few years ago; an enlistedman, broke, homeless, disheveled, driving a run-down vehicle a dozen mechanics had sabotaged, and struggling to make it through his return to academia with the rug and all support yanked out from under him by his would-be family. Thinking about that, he smiled a bit, 'Grandpa would be proud.'

As he made his customary beeline through the sparse mass of patrons, guests, and bell-hops, a sight that lit his face up caught his dark eyes. He fought for composure, regaining it quickly as he changed his course and approached the Pantheran woman from behind. Electric energy filled his ears, fingers, and toes. It was apparent that one of the Waldorf's glorified, pretty-boy bouncers had snatched her up for their civilian equivalent of a uniform violation. Though understandable in a place like this, especially for the ridiculous price people were paying to enjoy it, Auz knew some swift intervention was called for.

Once he was within a few feet of her and still approaching in a casual, stealthy glide, he trumpeted with the volume of a Drill Instructor closing in on an unexpecting recruit: "Freya!" As she would turn to face the source of her merrily exclaimed name, he was already stepping in to hug her, throwing his arms around her waist and lifting her up into a full circle spin before easing her back down, laughing heartily for a couple of seconds with how happy he was to see her. The uniformed man escorting her understood, bowed his head slightly, and stepped away to carry on policing the others.

"My, my; how Leochares would roll over in his mausoleum if he were to see how you have surpassed his finest works." Easing her boots back down to the lush carpet and letting his hands slide down to rest upon her hips, his eyes, full of energy, studied hers intently, "How was Dunai?? What did you find there? You are such an ******* for not taking me," he joked, still smiling as he offered his arm for her to take. "You didn't miss a thing here. New York is still stinky and grody, and I ate human food and was lying on my back for an hour, farting up a nebula!" he nuzzled her cheek, lightly chuckling about the memory of it all. "I trust your own expedition went more smoothly than that. The Indian food didn't shoot straight through you, did it?" Having spent time with her twice now, he was feeling it high time to let not only more of his culture and languages shine through, but his humor, as well.

Auz led the way back to the bank of lifts. "Need to fetch anything while we're here? I was just about to step out to do some more exploring, but there's no rush. Naturally, the Lady takes priority."

Frustration began to thread its curls about the silken mesh of her aura. Its power prickled like hot static in the air about the length of her long body. And it was clear in the eyes of the security, as they widened and his hand was pulled back away from her body. He turned about to face her, his yellow eyes showing their own fierce glare from above the muzzle of the meta-human. His bull nostrils flared, as if he were about to trample her down, if need be, •npc• "Listen, I don't know who you are. But, we can make this as pleasant as possible or rough. Your choice, lady."

Freya turned her head sharply, a lift of her chin darted the fading blue of her eyes up along the shimmering walls of the grand foyer. It was her way of cooling off. She had spent the last month around a rather gentle people, those who expressed life in not so offensive a way. And for a moment, she wondered why she had come back to New York. Her pain was here. Yet, so much was here, drawing her back.

The blonde set her eyes upwards, locking sights carefully. She hadn't wanted to cause trouble. Perhaps, her energy was just off, because even she could feel the rush of her power like needles to skin. She just wanted to be let be, and she wanted to find Auzdein.

With the burst of her name came a sudden jolt along her spine, that would send the alien woman spinning gracefully to turn and see him. Her kin, his eyes shining and dimples bursting at the edge of his large grin. She would recognize his voice anywhere, even in the menagerie of accents that teased his tongue. Freya found herself swept upwards into his arms. She wrapped her arms about his strong neck tightly, as he spun her about and settled her back down upon her boots. But, she didn't let go for the moment. Hands resting light at the nape of his neck, her mouth beaming with a full blossomed smile at the sight of a dear and friendly face.

§ "Auz," His name came with the sound of her rumble tickling the air. She was so happy to see him, he would be the first friend to great her back 'home'. Auz had been one of her connections to New York. Responding to her emails, as did the young and dear Edwina. Their dear responses kept her fastened to hope, the bridge back to the ESU.

A fast blink and a quick chuckle came as her responses about some Leochares. An artist, she could only suppose by what Auzdein said. But, that didn't matter; his voice was a song to hear ears, and the comment about the artist and Freya made her feel better; her aura easing back into the calm, velvety presence she held. Settling into the front of him, she crinkled her nose and gave him a titled grin. An eyebrow lifted at his speech, as her thoughts darted between having heard the word ******* in fights at the club, or endearments between men. With Auz excitement, and the full press of his energy warmly rapping around her, she would think the latter.

§ "Ah, sounds like you need to take a rest from human food, or you might explode," She joked, laughing at Auz, and shaking her head. Brushing her fingertips against the back soft dark waves of his hair, she couldn't help but smirk at the excitement he held for seeing her. His speech, however comical, certainly broke through the tension she had held moments earlier with security, § "And I happen to hold my food rather well, thank you very much. Perhaps, I've got an iron constitution, as the humans say."

Rubbing her smooth cheek against his trimmed beard, Freya felt further comfort in the touch and scent of Auzdein. Her trip had been lovely, but had left her need for skin to skin contact unfulfilled. There were the simple hugs, the sweet touch of hands from villagers, but nothing more Like New York, humans did not allow or wish to fulfill the tactile needs of a Pantheran. And as Auz nuzzled into her, Freya felt her body 'lift' to that with which she felt starved. With a grin, she spoke her answers into is ear, § "The people of Dunai were beautiful. And the leopards there magnificent, although not feeling certain to allow me close. I really want to go back soon."

Moving away from the nestling hug, Freya seemed to dance on the tip of her toes, turning into Auzdein's side. With a gentle smile, she brought her slender arm beneath the thick girth of his own, and followed him towards the gilded lifts of the hotel, § "No, I left everything at my hotel."

Stepping into the lift along his side, the smile would slightly drop. It had been difficult to sell the apartment Bronx had purchased for her. But, without a job, she had to bank money in some way. At least, until she found something here in New York again. Freya pushed the thought of it away, turning her smile back upwards to Auz, as the elevator took them to his floor, § "I was hoping.. we could just talk. It will be nice to not struggle with a language for a bit, although I was getting along pretty well near the end of my trip."

The soft chime of the floors pulled her feline attention, drawing her blue eyes towards the numbers above the door. She pulled her arm a bit tighter on Auzdein's, feeling the warmth of his skin permeate the sleeve of his shirt. Her other hand rested light fingers against his forewarn, where the tips absentmindedly caressed the flesh framed by the cuff of his shirt. She could feel the gentle flex of muscles beneath, which lured her eyes down to his wrist and hand. Her thoughts dissolved away her worries, as the touch continued to 'feed' her, drawing her silent in its reverie.

§ "Ah, sounds like you need to take a rest from human food, or you might explode."
"I'd bloody well love to but unfortunately they are the predominant occupiers of this filthy Outland hive;" he joked back, serious in his words, but lighthearted in his tone. He was too glad to be in her company again to feel negative about it all, "Their nasty pig-ape food is all I could find. Plus, I was tired of cooking and feeling rather 'blah', so I gave in, knowing full and well what the outcome would be. All is well that ends well, though. They fed me shyte; and I shyted it right back into their atmosphere; fair trade."

§ "And I happen to hold my food rather well, thank you very much. Perhaps, I've got an iron constitution, as the humans say."
Auz laughed, enjoying her recount and spin of the phrase. "I've heard it said 'iron stomach', but I know just what you mean. Maybe you're more of a trooper than I am."

The more Freya continued to cling to him in those hugs, and nuzzle back into him as he did to and for her, the more he needed and wanted that sort of touch from her. He had never had contact like it before. Outlanders just didn't appreciate it like he and his did. Even those who seemed to have lengthy, stable relationships knew very little of how to touch one another, and almost never had the balls (or ovaries) to ask or study. Freya was a breath of fresh air in many ways. Something deep inside his chest and its energy centers felt cleansed, lighter, and healing. She amazingly had the effect only his people had blessed him with. Even his own form of shadowy combat didn't make him feel this well.

§ "The people of Dunai were beautiful. And the leopards there magnificent, although not feeling certain to allow me close. I really want to go back soon."
"And if you have found a pleasant place in this crazy world, I hope you soon get to. Lord knows in all my travels, I couldn't; I had to build mine," another laugh, much more due to his continuing mirth at her return. "I love the way you form your sentences, by the way. I was beginning to think I was the last one alive on this world who did the same." He paused, cocking his head as his train of thought produced another comment: "Maybe I was, until you showed up," he smiled.

§ "I was hoping.. we could just talk. It will be nice to not struggle with a language for a bit, although I was getting along pretty well near the end of my trip."
"I have no doubt you would've soon mastered it better than even the locals could. Certainly, Lady Freya; you may take the reins."
As her arm gently increased its tightness around his, he rested his free hand down upon it, petting her again as he had before, and sliding his fingers down over the back of her hand, caressing the spaces in between her fingers with the pads of his own. His digits would slide over, in, and back out from between them, and then return to find their ways down under her palm, closing and squeezing her hand within his own. He knew to someone like her, he wouldn’t have to explain the importance of ‘touch therapy’.

Once back up at the door he had just left, Auz opened it and bowed slightly at the waist, bidding her enter with one hand. He put on another set of soft, quiet music, lit a candle that smelled like a tropical beach, and eased down onto both shins again as before, removing her shoes and hand washing her feet before giving them a brief massage. Rising and resting his hands around her upper arms, he kissed her forehead again, then very slowly took her hand and walked with her in to the living room to sit with her on the couch. His hand rested warmly around her cheek for a moment, “You sense as mine do, but the spirit calls me to say in words how glad I am to have you near again. New York would be just another dry and taxing expedition without you.”

As they sat there and conversed, his fingers continued to explore her hand, weaving in and out of her own fingers as he let her speak of whatever she pleased. He would have showered her in more affection and a full body hand-washing and massage, but knowing her natural condition due to prolonged exposure to the Outlands of the planet, he refrained until she actually felt ‘at home’, rather than just ‘detoxing’. The way he looked at her said everything, though; “I love you. You are so much like my own. Your adventures are as far spanning as even mine. Do let me accompany you next time.” But lips remained sealed, for words like that carried deeply different meanings in the Outland, and would surely be misinterpreted. Casual love and words like that were only received well back in his home, and it was unlikely he would ever utter them again out here.

“Did you see any of the peoples I mentioned in my email? I thought they might sense you not of the human species and, therefore, be more likely to reveal themselves in greeting.” His curiosity about the ongoing affairs of the inaccurately labeled 'mythological' races and cities remained strong, even after all he had been subjected to.

Once the fun intercourse was out of the way, he transitioned them into more pressing matters. Auz asked how she was doing and feeling, and why she had been staying in a hotel. He explained that he didn't make use of employees, as all are equal in his society and people work just to help out, but that if she was hurting for a break from the ways and expectations of the Outland, "You may always stay here, if you care to." He hoped she would sense that he meant that only as a friendly gesture; still being adamant about avoiding any ‘advances’ until after they had courted one another.

The light smile on her lips teased a wider grin, as Auzdein offered her the correct word 'stomach'. Just over a year on this planet, and there were still words that caused her a bit of confusion. At least, he seemed to take it in stride. Even gently noting the way she formed her sentences mirrored his own. Freya leaned into his shoulder, pressing her cheek against the firm roll of muscle. The smile that remained on her mouth would be silent evidence, that she enjoyed Auzdein's speech the same. She didn't feel like an odd one out, or so alien in this world, even if it was just the two of them that spoke in some old book language that received quirked eyebrows from the born inhabitants.

His hand brought a soothing touch that ran deeper than just her skin. Digits brushed deliciously between the delicate flesh of her fingers, smoothing the quickened pulse beneath. Each pass of Auzdein's hand caressed away her worries, and brought her here, to just this place, and next to him. Freya closed her eyes, turning her chiseled jaw to press the side of her nose to his shoulder. Her blue eyes lifted to the changing lights, and a smile teasing her lips, as Freya nuzzled in his scent, as he continued to stroke her hand during their ride on the lift.

She entered into his lavish apartment, but this time her eyes did not flicker to the generous hues of beige, saffron, and soft azure. They were on Auz, following his movements. Like the feline she was beneath, she observed the flow of his muscles, the bend of his body, as he prepared his home. And then came the softening sweet blow, as he tended her again with his gentle hands, then crowned the invitation into his home with a kiss just above her sculpted eyebrows. Her purr lifted to a sound that would permeate even human ears, as Auzdein took her hand and led her towards the couch. She kept close to him, feeling the inviting heat of his body, before she lost herself in the delicate touch of his fingers to her cheek. Auzdein was right; he did not have to say anything that was not capture in his scent and the way he moved. It was comforting knowledge, just the same.

Setting herself to sit near to him, the blonde curled her legs beneath her; one knee touching his thigh, as she made it a point to face him; the smile on her mouth never leaving her lips as her blue eyes wandered his features. Long, elegant digits burrowed between the length of his own. Fingers splaying, curling, nearly kneading into his hand, naturally enjoying the affection between them, as she told him about her trip. Freya told Auzdein of the people of Dunai. How rich they seemed, even without great buildings touching the sky. They reminded her of home, yet not so warlike as Pantherans could be. They wanted nothing of the chaotic world, or how it had turned. But, instead, had found a fascination with the woman who purred like a cat.

§ "I believe so, I mean..I met some people who could touch me, I mean.. feel my aura. They seemed to enjoy brushing their fingers through the sensation." Bringing up one arm to rest her elbow against the back of the couch, Freya expressed visually how the people she spoke about weaved their fingers through the magical envelope that floated about her flesh. Ivory digits slipped through the ambiance that played about Auzdein. Her mouth flickered in the smile, feeling the magic that emanated from his flesh, as her eyes seemed to focus on the tangible 'texture', § "And then..there were the Yeti.."

§ "I am not certain," she began, sending her blue eyes back to fix upon Auzdein's dark eyes. The hand that floated in the air near him, 'settled' to stroke through the thick beard along his jaw, § "But, I think they were curious, too. But, I was never able to get close, as happened with the leopards. They both have reason to fear the humans. And I can very easily seem like one."

Of course, she wasn't human. Freya longed for an attempt to make contact with the leopards at least, at another time. If she could just get close so that they would catch her scent, or even feel her aura. She told Auzdein that she could have easily shifted into something that looked like them, but did not want to play them the fool. She wanted to give them that respect, at least.

Her answer about the hotel came simply, she had sold her apartment. There wasn't any reason to explain the history behind it. Doing so would not let her move on, or let the past go. And that had been the reason for her trip. A trip to which she promised she would bring Auzdein with on the next jaunt.

The hand that held to his would flutter, making a quick rolling movement with their fingers and then squeeze his hand gently, the moment that he made the offer. Freya always had trouble sleeping alone. It wasn't the way of Pantherans, and had been something she had to learn to do here on this planet. Curling up in furs upon her bed, nuzzling her nose into the thick pile of soft tickling texture in order to mimic the tangible aura's of her own kind sleeping with her. It was artificial at best, but what she had learned to do to keep her Pantheran sanity about her. Of course, she didn't know if Auzdein would offer her a bed alone, or not. At least, there would be someone in the next room which she knew and cared for.

§ "I would like that... very much," the blonde purred, bringing his hand up to her lips, where she pressed a quick kiss between his knuckles; a simple gesture of thanks from her kind, which she felt freed upon doing with Auzdein. § "I came from a household where we all lived together, our doors open, not like here."

§ "Not that it's altogether terrible here; just.. different." She offered him a lopsided grin, that would only play on her mouth temporarily. Shifting, as she remembered he had been walking through the grand lobby when he had found her, § "Oh, earlier you spoke of exploring. May I ask where you were going?"

§ "I believe so, I mean..I met some people who could touch me, I mean.. feel my aura. They seemed to enjoy brushing their fingers through the sensation."
Auz was beaming with inhuman kindness and light in his dark brown eyes, shifting them back and forth between her own. "I know just what you mean." Her words triggered instant, pacifying flashbacks to the people in his city, and how they could feel one another's auras almost like a thick fog of colors suspended weightlessly in the air. "It has been so long since I heard anyone talk like that or describe something like that. You have made me very happy this day."

"It is still very amazing and relieving to me how these cultures around our world are so advanced that languages in these parts can never hope to explain them or the feelings they experience, while this culture and civilization here somehow humorously thinks them primitive only because they cannot recognize their ancient sciences and mystery schools. If only they knew the power of the mind, of rock formations, or simple towers and turrets... ley-lines and meridians, and the energies their eyes were not made to see. It does not occur to them that they knew nothing of the existence of radio- or micro-waves only a few generations back, and that, logically, there are still many other energy types out here left for them to discover and explore. -not to mention: other civilizations to discover and explore; civilizations which never forgot about those other energies."

He clearly softened inside, accepting the way she touched his jaw and facial hair completely.
"You are wise and kind to respect the cultures and societies of the people these Outlanders mistakenly classify separately as 'wild animals'. However, I'm sure in their wisdom they would not have taken offense if you were to approach them in your other form. They sense and speak in different and additional ways. I have confidence that trust and communication would still have been established. Maybe the negative assumptions of these Outlander hives have amended your conclusions. They certainly had mine." Auz knew that, like the members of the humans or any group, some of the animals would be less wise, less educated, and less inclined to rebuild relations, but he had found the majority of those labeled 'wild' to be quite the contrary.

§ "I would like that... very much."
At her agreement and kiss, he visibly melted; a caring glow almost coming from the expression on his face. "That makes my spirit sing. I am grateful that the divine brought you into my consciousness, and that you have let me begin to show you that there are far greater forces on this world than the xenophobic isolationist clingings of the Outlands. God bless them; they are set in the ways of the last Iron Age." He spoke his beliefs, trusting all wise souls to hear their ever-implied nature as opinions rather than 'facts'.

§ "I came from a household where we all lived together, our doors open, not like here."
"That is exactly the way we are in my home. -why I remained carefully discreet about it for so long. Outlanders do not know the potent spells they have been relaying from generation to generation. Such things would not affect us there, but they are annoyances we refuse none-the-less." He paused, thinking. "The more I feel of you," -'feel' had many layered meanings when he spoke it there- "the more I am inclined to believe you will be welcomed there. If you had been born of this world -an Outlander- such an advent would probably never be possible. You and I are blessed."

§ "Not that it's altogether terrible here, just.. different."
He smiled, "Agreed." He studied her features, letting his eyes do most of the talking, then took in a breath and went on, "I respect their choices and differences, even though they never ring compatible with mine. I have learned much from them, and enjoyed great and terrible adventures out here. Though technically my natural enemies, I am blessed to have so many of them."

§ "Oh, earlier you spoke of exploring. May I ask where you were going?"
Her manners and eloquence were divine. Auz felt no more need to be politically-correct or vague around this one lady of the outer spheres. Her calming effect was note-worthy, but not masking ulterior motives; it simply was there.

"Whenever and wherever I travel, I sometimes explore in plain-clothes, sometimes in camouflage, and sometimes through the implementation of my tools. I collect images, sounds, and other data about anything I like, such as a pretty face or body, a catchy song, a well-designed building or piece of landscaping, a painting, a new car, a new concept; just about anything. Sometimes I even explore the slums, as I have found in places like Thailand and Indonesia, there can be order to places we find crowded or hectic, and all of these things, no matter how alien to me, can be very beautifully incorporated into the ongoing development of my city and its people. I am the leading architect there, from the way it is zoned and managed, to what is taught in its schools and academies, to which crops are grown and how they are prepared and presented. I let the Outlands produce the creams I find palatable and positively stirring, and I sample and reproduce them, so as not to disturb the way of things out here. I do a lot of Le Parkour, climbing and jogging on rooftops and such, which allows me a great deal of privacy when I am studying people and their constructs for this purpose. I like to wear a balaclava -a ski-mask- so that if ever they spot me spying on them, it's anonymous; you know.. so we both can enjoy it." He let lips slowly part, indicating on top of his tone that it was a joke there at the end.

Auz then stopped himself, chuckling once as a smile flashed his straight, white teeth; reacting to his momentary digression. He was getting so comfortable around this woman that he had given way to carefree rambling and unrestrained elaboration. Lips closed again and he carried on.

"Specifically, I was heading over to check out the Ty Warner Suite at Four Seasons. Dressed like this," he gestured to his 'get-up' of preppy, nice clothes, "I wouldn't do well to be leaping and bounding over fire-escapes and ventilation turbines today." His eyes moved down her body all the way to her toes, pausing to take them in for a moment and then tracing their way back up into her eyes. "Although... that could always happen again later tonight... if the lady cares to accompany." He regarded her another moment, and then: "Being a goodly part feline, I imagine your grace and stamina are as otherworldly as you are." His eyes let her know all of that was a very rare and meaningful compliment, being spiced with a hint of playful innuendo; another custom of his city. "I would adore to share in the majesty of a climb, prowl, and hunt with you."

Finally feeling the spirit moving him to share a bit more touch with her, he let his free hand rest on the side of her calf for a few seconds, sharing its warmth, before tracing the muscles of her leg with his finger tips. It was not to arouse her; merely a friendly petting. "Here;" he brightened up, enthused to share something with her, "take a look at these photographs I found of the suite. These are what motivated me to go there in person this eve'." He squeezed her hand in his, and her calf in his other hand, slipped away from her and off of the sofa, and returned with a pair of transparent gauntlets seated snuggly around his forearms.

Sitting back down as closely as she had sat to him, he set her legs over his and let her hands rest palm-down onto the skyward-facing palms of his own. His eyes flashed as another smile conveyed his groomed excitement, "Close your eyes, and think of nothing." The data was transmitted from the gauntlets, through his body, into her body via the HAN (Human Area Network) technology, displaying the photographs as a slideshow in her mind.

A corner of her lopsided grin dashed higher, playing in the dimple just beyond her smile. That she made someone happy, with something so natural to her being, felt so good. He wasn't angered, but drew the knowledge of tangible auras and went on to explain how his people saw them in colors. Freya leaned forward, fascinated by this concept, so new to her. She drew her bottom lip between the sharp line of her white teeth, suckling it softly within its capture. Absorbing his words about the science and mysteries of other civilizations, Freya lifted one knee upwards. She flexed her spine into a gentle bow, resting her chin upon her knee. She did not know many of the words he was speaking about, ley-lines, meridians. But, she did inscribe them into her thoughts, hoping that she would remember to research, or perhaps ask him about them soon enough.

As he continued, he fed her curiosity, nearly bursting now in her grin. In her eyes, the glimmers of thoughts passed through; her eyes dancing between the dark view of his own. She searched beyond his words, piecing what he said together with what she knew, or believed she had learned on her travel to Nepal. Teeth nibbling on the inside of her cheek, her mouth a flow of gentle waving smiles and paused complacent lines, § "They.. the humans don't ..."

§ "...generally seem to like those who can shift into another form." After all, she'd been shot at a few times in the park. Added newspapers, the media in general, talked often about riding those with the virus, and the danger these 'creatures' were. § "I've had to hide, Auzdein, that part of me. The HLNA wanted me dead. I really don't want to draw their attention again."

The alien woman was certainly spooked by the large hate group. She remembered Sam's fear. And she had known that Sam and Bronx had nearly gotten themselves killed trying to save Freya. A soft huff from her nostrils came with the memory, a sound of feline frustration. She curled her fingers into the spread of his hand, flexing a gentle squeeze that would help release those troubles for the moment. In that flicker of thought, it was clear she would never lose the love she held for either of them. Yet, it was a love that brought angst, to which she had to release herself. It had been the reason she had left New York, and would be the beloved splinter to which would take some time to heal.

Auzdein's warmth, his touch, and his dear invitation to remain in his home had a healing affect. One to which she curl emotionally closer within, as she could sense his calming emanations spread over her like velvet. It coaxed her own to rise again, weaving like spider silk through her purr. Her fingers tumbled gracefully like snow covered slender leaves away from his beard, dancing down his arm until she placed her hand over his. With her hand, her eyes had fallen, sweeping down slowly to take in the sight of him. It was not with lust that she let her eyes wander over Auzdein, but with tender affection. A tender sentiment that caused her heart to dance when he told her he could 'feel' her. Blue eyes jumped upwards to meet his, and there she could see the unspoken words. Their kind did not need them, not with the keen senses she'd been blessed. And neither did Auzdein, as his words echoed her thoughts, and further stated something endearing to her being, § "I would be blessed, that you would take me there one day....to your home."

Freya's chin lifted from the perch of her knee, as she took in his bit of story about his explorations. She was intrigued, and perhaps a bit disappointed in herself that she had not seen much of this world or even her own. With the chance that she would be able to go home with Auzdein's help, Freya thought she should do better about that in the next few weeks, adding to the few incredible places she had already been blessed to have seen. And when she reached Panthera, she would travel and see beyond her own region.

His chuckle echoed in her own soft giggle, that melted away into quiet when he finally told her what he had planned on doing with his evening. It wasn't the usual New Yorker's plan of an outing. It reminded Freya of the day she had met him, and then the night in the coffee house. His stealth, how swift and silent he had been able to move. She tracked his eyes with a slight grin, as Auz delved his vision to take her in before him. Roaming the long terrain of her form with his deep chestnut pools, To be taken in with his eyes made her feel good, feel lovely and dear to behold, it would cause her purr to flicker in its constant 'weather' pattern like sound to her emotions.

Then her eyes flickered to a sudden gold, the daemon passing close behind her vision, § "Hunt...I've.. well, I've not hunted in some time. I've missed it."

Her mind wanders through the thoughts of her hunting experiences here on Earth, as Auzdein tenderly petted along the sinewy muscles of her calf. Most had not gone well, and forced Freya to hide her feline side away. Her thoughts rushed with what she could hunt, and where. No longer held back it would seem by the barriers she had placed on her thoughts, perhaps she could feel that freedom and thrill of the pursuit again.

She bobbed her head in a quick nod, and watched Auzdein leave her to get something. Her eyes flickered a few blinks, as she saw what he had placed over his hands and wrists. Snuggled closer again to him, her long legs over his, Freya closed her eyes. At first the images seemed to fight a bit with her mind's eye, the colors distorted because the feline mind was so close to the surface now. She saw the images, floating in the hues of purple, blue, green, and yellow. A luxurious suite, with shimmering lights a staggering view through windows of the city. As the images floated away, Freya opened her near now golden eyes, § "The rooms are beautiful."

§ "But, what are you hunting there? A new residence?" He had prodded the feline eagerness. Her rumbling purr could be felt within the air, trembling over the fabric of the couch. She had enjoyed how lovely the rooms where, but wanted to know what drew him there, what was within the rooms that he would be so keen to search upon.

He continued to honor her language request and stuck to the English she was comfortable with, using no accents or dated expressions. Letting her sit and lean on one cushion and section of the couch, with him on the one next to hers, and with her legs stretched out across it and over his own, his hands moved, lightly sliding against the soles of her feet, turning from time to time so she could feel their sides, knuckles, and palms; the same way she had caressed his jaw-line at Belvedere.

Auz explained that his people saw it the other way around; that those without abilities and love like hers had a 'virus', and that he and his always stayed hidden from those 'infected' people, while surgically exterminating them in a clandestine way; a way in which their efforts and aftermath both remained very difficult to detect. "We don't look down on any group or belief, and we even love those who hunt and try to jail and kill us, but though we do not bear ill will toward them, we casually wipe them out and trick them into in-fighting to keep them 'off our backs', as it were."

"As for you having to hide, it is probably wise, but I would never hide myself nor my desires and true nature for long. When you are around me, if you want to shift, by all means do it. I am no stranger to violent opposition, hate groups, or the like, and I don't mind making use of my skill sets to ensure if they come knocking, it is they who will leave with bruised and bloodied egos as well as bodies."
He was as calm and matter-of-fact as ever when he said this. Auz had been killing for a very long time. To him and his people, it was no different than doing the chores or going out for a walk. When you went outside the city, you checked your gear and weapons, and you made ready for mortal combat and assassinations. It wasn't taxing or saddening; they loved it and saw it as holy and healthy.

Auz found it adorable how she perched her chin upon her knee, and when she returned his mirth in her giggle, his face brightened, smiling with his cheeks and eyes as much as his mouth. 'I hadn't seen or heard you do that before,' he thought. Her particular signature of giggle had transfixed him.

§ "Hunt...I've.. well I've not hunted in sometime. I've missed it."
"Music to my ears, -to compliment the music of your body motions and the sound of your purrs; a full symphony you bless me with every time you are near. Then I will reserve a place for you at my table for ever so long as you shall seek it, and we shall hunt in this urban jungle until you are able to hunt in all the other environments our worlds have to offer."

His eyes flashed a bit wider, focusing more as they locked onto her golden irises. "Freya..." he whispered; he was a bit taken for words for a moment there, "your eyes..." and there was wonder and attraction in his voice. Auz shifted his position and her upon him so that she was almost completely in his lap. His hands moved to rest lightly around her upper arms and then to cradle the Pantheran's cheeks and jaw as he peered into their new color and glow. Petting the soft flesh over her cheekbones with his thumb pads again, he marveled at her and then explained his keen interest: "My people do a similar color shifting with their irises. I've only ever seen a handful of other races do it, and even then, it is only to a darker shade of the same color, or to black. Yours are the first I've seen get brighter or golden..." He thought of the stories of the golden-white auras that were, to him, equally as scarce. Lost in her eyes in that moment, he had barely registered her words: § "The rooms are beautiful."

§ "But, what are you hunting there? A new residence?"
He loved her use of the word 'hunt', as it had many very uplifting associations attached to it. "I hadn't thought to relocate there, but I suppose it would be a good idea. I've been here a few months now. It is time for a fresh new start; a happy change. I was always taught not to stay in one place for too long. It is untactical for one, and for two: it grows stale." He again thought of the idea she had given him, glancing off to the side for a second of daydreaming, picturing himself walking through its rooms as a resident, rather than a tourist. "Come with me," his eyes, enthused, moved back to her golden ones. "I mean, ..move in with me there." His voice was soft, humble, and eager almost like a child's. The idea of good company to him was a startling and impossible one. He wasn't about to pass this opportunity up.

When he felt her rumbling purr, his lips parted -mouth almost falling open- and he couldn't help but move his arms and hands again; one arm settling over her nearest outer thigh and around her waist, and the other moving so that its palm rested evenly against her sternum to feel the rumble directly; it was as if he was magnetically yanked to it, needing it like medicine or air. It didn't occur to Auz that such a touch would be seen as an advance into a 'private area'. To him, it was normal to touch people over where their chakras lied -and everywhere else, for that matter.

Meanwhile, ever since he had donned them, his gauntlets had been sifting through more of her memories of the stars as seen from the southern land on Panthera, knowing now how to spot them tucked away in her mind with ease. Somewhere far away, trillions of calculations per second were slowly crystallizing the answer to their question: "Where was home?"

It was rare that Alpha Pantherans hunted with another. It was believed that if one could not do so on their own, then they were a omega. The culture was rather stiff on that thought. Although the stronger of their kind still served to help them out, there was a reserved pride in the class groups. It marked your place in life, how well you lived, and who you could be with. If one wanted to prove they were not a beta or omega, one would have to challenge a higher ranking Pantheran. It was an old cultural law; one that had not changed for centuries, and one that might seem outdated by human ideals.

There were the moments when an alpha would share their hunt. This had nothing to do with their skill or prowess, but in order to share in the bliss that came with the hunt and capture. Freya could see the pure enthusiasm to which Auzdein held of the idea to hunt with her. He knew beneath the visual 'barrier' most humans saw as a simple beauty lurked a huntress, something eager to stalk and kill. It was as pure as nature, and yet had been caged beneath her alabaster flesh, fed on raw meat on her nights alone.

§ "I would be honored to hunt with you," the melodic feline hum played within the intonation of her words, as she found his the burnt henna of his eyes. Her mouth was framed by delicate dimples within the pleased smile that came with feeling recognized and understood. If Auzdein knew of a place which they could hunt, then she would happily join him. And perhaps in time, she could coax from within the lurking feline who had hid since the night in St. Lucia, when she rescued Edwina from poachers. She would be brave again, finally, to be herself once more.

A full breath hissed between her teeth, suckling oxygen quick and deep, as she heard his quick and amazed whisper of her name. She realized quickly that her daemon must have slipped behind her eyes, comforted by the resonance of his aura and touch. Auzdein's eyes took her in, like prized gold before him. She could hear his heartbeat pick up its pace, like horses with a sudden quick step in their canter. Her mouth fluctuated in the smile, like a butterfly soft and uncertain of capture, until her lips spread like wings beneath the gentle cradle of his hands. Her eyes darted between his, just as baited by his excitement over the changing hue of her Pantheran irises. The line of her lips changed to a demure grin, as her want to know about the rooms progressed forward in her mind again.

§ "I will move in with you. It would be a new place for us both, then," Freya liked the idea; that they would find change together. Besides, it was a grand place, with a large window which Freya already pictured herself lounging beneath the sun. She could see the sky for miles, as it would be at home upon a mountain top. Her voice met his with longing, § "One from which we can see the sky for many miles. If it would be possible.. I would like that."

The blonde felt her body lifted suddenly, strong hands taking her to bring her closer to his body. His lap became her seat, his arm the gentle cradle for her back, when his other hand brought his palm to swiftly settle into the valley of her breasts. There he could feel the heavy pulsation of her purr. The cadency became thick like syrup in the air, as Auzdein had wrapped her with his own aura and embrace. His touch soothed away the shadows that had followed her here. Like a tranquilizer, her muscles softened beneath his embrace.

Long dark blonde eyelashes closed lightly. Her hands rose to cup against the one he held to her sternum. The touch of the fabric of his gauntlet against her fingertips caused Freya to open her eyes, and gently she removed the glove from his hand. She placed it to his side, then swiveled her hips gracefully. Lithe legs nimbly shifting in her turn, that would cause her to face him. Her knees went to either of his hips. Freya met his eyes, then reached for the other gauntlet, taking it off gently. Removing the lining that she thought of as an obstacle to which he would want to feel her purr. Her mouth wavered in the flickering smile, as she brought his hands back to her body.

§ "Now, you can feel my purr." He was the first to seem to hunger to feel that exotic rumble. As if Auzdein craved the sensation and the force it emanated from her willow like body. It was another sign of acceptance; a piece to which her inner ego craved to be known, to feel comfortable in herself again. As she would allow him to revel in the vibration, so she would feel blessed to be Pantheran once more.

Freeing his hands of her own to wander, Freya drew her knuckles to tenderly journey along the line of his short beard. Her thumbs lifted to sweep lovingly against his bare cheeks. In her eyes she held the longing for him that would begin to play on her heart. The endearment of kinship would be but a novelty.. to the emotions that were expressed in the large radiant gold of her eyes.

§ "Tell me..," she continued to speak in a light murmur, as if now they were sharing secrets from the world with only one another, § "You said that your people saw the colors of someone's aura. I cannot." The blonde paused, tugging a shallow breath, as Freya felt the tender pressure of his large hands upon her body. His touch, the eagerness to which he wanted to be close to Freya made her feel heady, her own aura rising in its static like sensation that caused it to warm, § "Can you see..mine?"

§ "I wish I could see yours, Auzdein." The interest held came with many layers. As Auzdein continued to open each door closer and closer to who he was, Freya was drawn to know him more. The emotions that came with the want to be cradled in the comfort of kin, had changed with the scent of desire; a desire which skirted on the edges of fear, which had come within the passing few months. Penetrating the unknown could unlock anger and loathing. Her chin dropped, and her aura shivered in the quake of the ruptured emotions, as her hands fell to plummet suddenly, and then stopped their fall by the magnetism of his warm hand and wrist. There, fingertips drew soft circles and lines that followed the masculine wealth of muscles and visible veins along his wrist and forearm. Her eyes remained focused there, following the tempered touch of her fingers and palms to his warm skin.

§ "I would be honored to hunt with you."
Relief and renewed excitement washed over him. Like her and hers, Auz tended to hunt alone, having realized that it was simply how the gods wanted him to ever since his first childhood adventures where they'd taught him painful lessons about taking others along if they weren't truly like him.

§ "I will move in with you. It would be a new place for us both, then; one which we can see the sky for many miles, if it would be possible. I would like that."
"It is more than 'possible'; it is the will of the great Al-lah you have spoken of. Our paths are star-crossed. Let us make it so," he beamed a very warm and happy smile to her, weaving the fingers of one hand through her golden locks to let them caress and fall away from her skin beneath. She would be able to tell in the ways that he touched her that he wanted to touch so much more and often, sharing that paramount gift, culture, and lovingly practiced skill with her.

Smiling, his tongue took on a life of its own: "I can't wait for you to see the 'sky for miles' as it stretches and yawns out over my Inisfree-" his eyes showed a split-second of worry. He had lost his control and spoken its name! There was a gulp, and he paled for a moment before her calming effect returned to him. No one was ever to know of its name. How had she extracted this? How had the gods??

When she took his hand within hers, his own eyes blissfully closed, and he marveled at how she was the very first and possibly only outsider ever to be allowed to know of, see, and slide off his gauntlets. As Freya shifted on his lap to settle into a very comfortable and fitting straddle on him, his eyes opened again and he looked back into her eyes with deep-seated wonder, accepting and loving how close they had become in the moment -literally and metaphorically. His hands, at first, settled snuggly around her thighs, sliding up and down them several times to caress and pet, until they slid their way all the way up and back to cup around her ***, projecting all his affection and love in one of the most common ways of hugging and reassuring someone where he came from. Directly beneath her, she would feel his member stir and grow, and he let it, not ignoring it this time.

§ "Now, you can feel my purr."
Freya placed his hand back to where he had instinctively needed it to be. Searching, overwhelmed eyes looked to it within her hands, and back up to her eyes. His lips parted. She was perfect. All the way from another distant planet and she was somehow perfect.

Auz wanted, felt, longed to say "I love you", as it was so easily a phrase shared between his people, and one always with great meaning; never just tossed out there for tradition or habit. However, his lips did not part, and his incisors only flexed for a moment of trembling against one another, wanting to help his lips and tongue speak it just as much. Sliding his arms now snuggly around her waist and back, he turned his head to rest an ear and cheek upon her cleavage, letting the rumble soothe him even more fully and directly, and just let her feel how strongly he had grown to long for her instead.

The digits of his hands opened and squeezed closed again slowly and repeatedly against her flesh, as if he were grabbing for what was already in his grasp, needing to brush them against her on a primal and pure level. She was making him feel just as accepted for who he had always been deep inside. His lips pursed and pressed themselves fully and softly against her nearest breast, holding a single kiss upon it for half a minute as his hot breath flowed down over its slope many times before he let them relax and part from it. The weariness and armor was slowly starting to thaw and trickle out away from him, almost as if he could feel it crumbling and floating off like the mist of snows.

§ "Tell me.., You said that your people saw the colors of someone's aura. I cannot."
"Sometimes." He spoke that same warm air out onto her breast, still snuggling tightly and comfortably with her; his cheek and ear still resting helplessly against her chest, and his arms around her upper body with her legs around his lower. "It was a trait I didn't know for the longest time if I wanted to imbue them with, ..but, yes, they can, if they so choose. For them, it is like flexing and relaxing their iris muscles, so if they want to see an aura, they just will their eyes to focus or flex that particular way, and let it relax when they wish to see in our normal, visible spectrum again."

§ "Can you see..mine?"
He looked up to her again in wonder and amazement, and very pleased eyes slowly closed as he answered.
"I never gave myself that ability -at least, not as much. I can see it like a very faint, superimposed glow at times when I focus, but more than anything, I see its colors in my mind through how I can feel it. It is a little bit different than seeing it directly." Auz paused to let his senses show it to him in his mind. "Some see only one color or two, but I have always seen a full rainbow of colors shifting all around each person's body. Each chakra glows with and radiates them -those colors- like they are fluctuating and changing their minds, based on how a person feels and reacts and grows. Some may have mostly blue around a few chakras, or gray if they are hiding or denying things, or pulsing whites if they have unlocked them and feel free... Yours," he paused, as if touching and listening to hers, "yours has the colors and the ringing or songs of tension...pain..." his words came softly as he offered his perception and diagnosis. "-much like mine does when I am in these lands."

§ "I wish I could see yours, Auzdein,"
It was then that Auz immediately felt her aura shiver, and paired it with her changing body language. Looking into her eyes with great concern and piercing care, he couldn't help but let it slip out. Auz now took her hands within his, and placed them longingly against his heart and sternum. With their faces now only inches apart, he leaned in and kissed her with full lips sealing warmly and flush against her own, as if he could taste and kiss away her pain. It was, in part, a kiss full of rich and mixed emotions, but more than lust or longing, it was a kiss meant to heal and reaffirm. She would feel his free hand now resting back against her heart chakra, completing the circuit between them; both hearts and energies feeding one another, like jumper cables for the soul.

"My dearest Lady Freya," eyes shifted back and forth between her own as he raised her face to his, where he felt it belonged, "you are so very much loved here. What has frightened you? Your life force diminished before my very eyes.." He had endured many moments of spirit wilting, doubt growing, and falling back upon experiences trying to warn him of the impossibility of any happiness with her or anyone out here, but, as with all other chapters of his life, his energy-well always ended up erupting and fighting through it all. He was, after all, an Alpha and a Bull.

There was fear, caution, and restraint in him, too, but his heart, bold and bright as always, was wining. She had filled it, and was now held dearly within. One hand continued to rest around her two held to the powerful, beating place between his pectorals. The other hand cupped her cheek, giving itself for her to nuzzle into and feel as much of his energy and attraction as she wanted.

"Someone once told me that, as a young man, mine was golden and white and rather blinding, and that, as I passed through my adolescent and patriotically polarized years, it became more orange with my loyalties to others, and other colors for a time, only returning to its original golden-white once I had come 'full circle' in my journeys of self-discovery. I bet anything yours was golden-white once not long ago, too, and that it will be again. By the gods, it shall be."
